Meet the Artist

Gary DiMeo is a Hudson Valley native whose love of the river was born from a childhood spent along the Hudson. A self-trained painter who works in oils in the style of the Hudson River School, Gary’s works grace collections in the US, Europe, Japan and China.

“The Half Moon on the Hudson” (above) was painted in celebration of the quadcentennial of the discovery of New York’s Hudson River by explorer Henry Hudson. The original is currently on view at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow, NY. A black and white rendering of the painting is being used by the Hudson Valley Writer’s Center as the journal cover image and invitation for their annual fundraiser.

  1. I have been looking for the artist that painted "Harvest on the Hudson" for two years. I finally found him and he is now painting a special harvest scene for me. I live in Seattle and I still fell in love with the Hudson Valley. I can not express how much I appreciate the beauty of Garys work. He is truley a credit to the Hudson River painters. Thank you Gary.
